It's Been A Mail-a-palooza!

When I lived in my house in Georgia, my daughter had painted on the inside of the mailbox "I love gettin' mail!" along with a smiley face. My mail carrier told me she never failed to smile when she opened my mailbox.  But I do, I do love getting mail! And I got a lot of it this week!

My daughter, Becca, sent me a package from Colorado. She had been on a trip to New Mexico a couple weeks ago, and bought that purty chili ristra for me.  She also sent the fabric for me to finish her quilt:

and a loaf of gluten free bread from Udi's Bakery in Parker, Colorado:

And when I opened the box, I also found her green ink pen she hasn't been able to find. thanks Becca!

I loved that bread so much, I ordered a case of it for myself, and it arrived only two days later! all the way from Parker to Greensboro, Alabama:

I saw this fabric online a month or so ago on Etsy in one yard lengths, and had been trying to find  a seller with three yards in one piece. I was so happy to find it! It's called Fairy Tip Toes, and it is soooo cute.  It was also delivered to me this week. I have to make a baby quilt for my new FabGrandchild that is due in May. In case I haven't mentioned it yet, my son's wife, Sarah is having a baby! We'll find out in two weeks whether it is a boy or a girl. I am so hoping it is a girl so I can use this fabric. But, it it's not, I'll just make something for FabGrandaughter, Sarah, with it.

And. the last thing I got in the mail was a new copy of "The Essential Gluten Free Grocery Guide".I love this book! I can find out really quick if something I want to buy is on "the list" or not.

Ooooooo, I can hardy wait for next week to see if I get anything good in the mail!

Mail Lost And Found

For eight years, our daughter, Becky, who lives in Atlanta, has handled our mail for us. She has collected it from the post office box and sent it to us about every two weeks or so. She has done this for us because she loves us, and has done a very good job of it.

Over the last year or so, the mail has been sent with more and more time in between, an indication to us that she is busy. We understand that--she owns her own business, has lots of friends, a new boyfriend, and now a new puppy. (well, her room mate has a new puppy) So, we decided to permanently change our address to a PO box here in Salome. We decided to come back here to this same RV park next winter anyway, and the post office will forward our mail for free to our job in the summer for 6 months, which is all we would need, anyway.

So, we called Becky and had her send our mail one last time, which she did, 10 days ago. When we still had not received our mail package yesterday, I emailed Becky and asked if she had really sent the mail on the day she said she was going to. Yes, she did. So, today, still no mail.

I got to thinking about it, and although she has never done it before, I wondered if she had sent the mail to the last place we were, in Phoenix. Called them, and sure enough, they had my package. But, they wouldn't forward it to me. They could return it to Becky, but could not forward it to me. Even if I paid them to.

So, now I am waiting for my mail to take a ride from North Phoenix RV Park in Phoenix, back to Becky, then back to me here in Salome. That package will have traveled over 6,000 miles before I get it. Imagine that!

And I just want to say here, that I have worked at RV parks for years, and at every place I have ever worked, we would forward the mail. This is not normal.

Today Was A Good Mail Day...Oh, and Project 365

I love getting snail mail, more than I love getting email and comments on my blog. Because I am a gyspsy, traveling around the country fulltime, I don't get mail often. Our daughter, Becky, has the key to our post office box in Georgia, and has been sending us our mail for 8 years. Thank you, Becky!

In today's mail bag there were lots of goodies! First, there were two Christmas cards from people who love me. Ahhh, I am loved, after all. Second, there was a refund check from that nasty telephone company, remember them? It wasn't much, but by dang it, that is MY money. There was also a check from the cactus guy, ooooooooo, and it was a good one too, Thank YOU Robert!

And last of all but best of all, I finally got my passport! Yippee! Now I can go to Mexico.

And I do want to apologize for falling down on the job of posting my project 365 photos. I will start up again, starting where I left off, next week. I am not really loving being in Phoenix, I feel like all the tension of being in this huge town, driving in all the traffic everywhere we go, has stiffled my creativity. Yeah, as if. But seriously, I will be doing Project 365, Day 59 next week.
